Little Colby came for her cake smash about six months ago. Unfortunately at that stage she had severe separation anxiety and after trying all the tricks in our book, we decided to postpone her session for 6 months and then do a paint splash session. And what a difference that time made! This time around she was a confident little girl with the most adorable facial expressions.
For Nathans’ first birthday, mom wanted to do a paint splash and we were thrilled to have another one of these fun sessions in the studio.
She also wanted to have a Hulk themed session, so we made a Hulk bursting through the wall for the backdrop and dressed Nathan in ripped purple pants that we made from T-shirt material.
But with that fair skin, ginger hair and pretty blue eyes, I think little Nathan looks more like baby Ed Sheeran than baby Hulk, what do you think?
I love clients who embrace new ideas! When Kamo phoned me to schedule a session to take photos of her little boy for his second birthday, I pitched an idea to her. One she was just as excited about as we were!
By now you all know how much I love cake smashes. But it simply does not work that well with bigger children, so we came up with a plan for those aged between 2 and 6 years old.
A PAINT SPLASH – because what toddler does not love creating a colorful mess, right? We give them some paint and a small canvas and allow them to go wild – sometimes even the balloons are turned into a piece of art.
Have a look at some of my favorite images from our session with little Omphile.
